Mayor R. E. Goldsby, MD
On behalf of the Town of Amite City, Louisiana, I would like to welcome you to our new website.
Amite is a perfect location for retail and commercial business. Located on I-55, about halfway between Jackson, Mississippi and New Orleans, the Town of Amite City is the first major stop south of the Mississippi State line. The Town of Amite City is only minutes away from I-12, a major east-west route through the Florida Parishes, connecting Baton Rouge to the Northshore area and points east.
The Town of Amite City has just enough shopping, dining and businesses to attract residents, plus all the charm of quiet country living. It’s a town where neighbors know neighbors and share coffee, family history, and good times. Beautiful oak trees, azaleas and dogwoods make spring in the Town of Amite City a painted landscape, with all the charm and elegance of the Deep South. Rivers and tributaries, Spanish moss and front porches exude the ambiance of relaxed living sought by families and retirees.
On behalf of the Town of Amite City, welcome, and we look forward to seeing you.
